GE 1.5 T Magnet

MRI / MRA

Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI) is an imaging technology which allows your doctor to have the clearest possible look at your internal anatomy. This is possible thru a new technology called High Definition MRI. Our state of the art unit includes a 1.5T magnet, the largest unit on an outpatient clinic setting.
MRI uses a powerful magnetic field and radio waves to provide computerized images, which appear as slices of the anatomy, for the radiologist to determine the differences between healthy and abnormal tissue.  An MRI is used to examine soft tissues like organs, muscles, cartilage, ligaments and tendons in many parts of the body. This could be your brain, spinal column, breast, abdomen, pelvic area, breast or joints. MR Angiography (MRA) provides detailed images of the vascular system without contrast material. This method can detect aneurysms, obstructions and similar abnormalities. Your doctor will use this information to help determine the course of your treatment.
